Notice: This trade-goods zakat calculator is for internal planning, not an official zakat return. ZATCA's statutory business zakat base is calculated from equity and long-term liabilities after excluding fixed assets and other items, and can differ substantially from this figure. Use your financial statements and accountant when filing.

Your base figures start with your invoices

Issuing invoices and recording collections in one place gives you receivables and receipts at the zakat year-end instead of compiling separate statements.

How is trade-goods zakat calculated?

Add cash, collectible receivables and inventory at selling price, deduct liabilities due during the zakat year, then calculate 2.5% if the base reaches nisab and a full zakat year has passed.

Why do Hijri and Gregorian rates differ?

Zakat follows the lunar year of about 354 days. A Gregorian year is eleven days longer, so the adjusted 2.577% rate accounts for that difference.

What is nisab?

Nisab is the value of 85 grams of gold when zakat is due. No zakat is calculated below it. Its value changes with the gold price, so you enter it yourself.

Can this calculator prepare a ZATCA zakat return?

No. The statutory business base uses equity and long-term liabilities after excluding fixed assets and other items, and differs from this trade-goods calculation. Use this tool for planning and your financial statements and accountant when filing.
